Andres Sarda new Summer 2012 collection – a song to Mare Nostrum

MARE NOSTRUM – in Latin that means “Our Sea” and so was the Mediterranean Sea called by Romans.

The swimwear collection crated by talented Spanish lingerie designer Andres Sarda dives into exploring millennial cultures of Mediterranean region. Egyptian myths, Roman classicism, spirits of Greece, powerful sun rays and soothing waters fall into one enchanting mash-up.  Ultramarine blue simply hypnotizes, and ornaments stun with the feminine goddess appeal.  Warm greens refreshes and brings back to earth, while black and whites gives a sense of civilization, reality, a connection with modern world.

Thanks to Lycra, each design adapts to a special features of women’s bodies. The collection is completed with a line of accessories that combine with the garments and help building complete look.

As Andres Sarda decribes:

The 2012 Andrés Sardá Summer Collection takes a trip through the Mediterranean Sea, its secret enclaves and millennial cultures. Places, where sun and sea worshippers began their cult at the dawn of time. Places, where the ritual of laying in the sun and bathing in the soothing waters continues to replay as soon as the warm weather licks its coasts. The bare beauty of this eternal sea continues to seduce those who reach its shores from all the corners of the Earth. Exotic cultures intertwine with ancient Greco-Roman classicism and fascinating Egyptian myths, inspiring colours, motifs and prints created to shine under the Sun’s powerful rays.
As a legendary dream, the spirit of Greece and Rome glides over the catwalk, its lines and its concepts. Intense ultramarine blue, marine stripes and a timeless style has been seduced by war myths of powerful women who abandoned the Olympus to fight with mere mortals to control their own destiny. These fantastic beings were dressed in vaporous dresses, sinuous draping and the luminous glow of the precious sacred metals.

Andres Sarda is a designer brand I feel lots of respect, everything they do are simply pieces of art, they never lose their path and uniqueness.

And the Summer 2012 collection brings no dissapointment,  a true tribute to sun and sea worshipers of those mystic times. So much attention to details, such aesthetic choice of jewelry, that add up mystical mood to overall look.

About Aidin Vaatleja

Lingerie needs no words. Instead of judging which lingerie is more sexy and which bra pushes up better, let’s agree: 1. Best lingerie is the one on your partners body 2. The way to evaluate piece of lingerie is to try to imagine yourself (or your partner) in it I do like observing both new collections and the ones released years ago. Time doesn’t make difference, as long as you do like what you see. Please enjoy browsing high quality photo galleries for your inspiration. And do share lingerie, which is your favorite, which ones would you like to see on yourself. Your lingerie observer, Aidin.
